Nicole has been in private practice in the energy field since 2005. Prior to joining BGM in 2008, she was an associate in a Washington, D.C. law firm where she practiced before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on behalf of natural gas companies and electric utilities.

Nicole assists clients with issues concerning wholesale power contracts, market-based rates and market power analyses, electric transmission and natural gas ratemaking proceedings, open access transmission tariffs, regional transmission organizations, corporate transactions, resolution of energy market tariff and natural gas transmission tariff disputes and appellate review of FERC orders. Most recently, she has spear-headed BGM’s efforts to implement FERC’s eTariff filing requirements on behalf of our clients. She is also actively engaged in matters involving interstate and intrastate natural gas pipelines, investor-owned utilities and their energy affiliates, and electric cooperatives.

Nicole earned an L.L.M. degree in 2006 from the American University Washington College of Law program on law and government with a concentration in administrative law and regulatory policy. She received a J.D. in 2004 from St. John’s University School of Law, where she participated in the Civil Trial Advocacy Institute and was a member of the Civil Trial Institute Honor Society.
