Compliance with NERC and Regional Entity Reliability Standards

BGM provides representation regarding matters involving the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and its Regional Entities. Our attorneys provide advice on development, interpretation and implementation of the reliability standards, preparation for NERC and Regional Entity audits, compliance reviews, and self-reports of possible violations. We also counsel clients on the structure of their compliance programs and other significant reliability issues. We have participated in discussions with RE staff regarding possible alleged violations, mitigation plans and audit findings.

We also stay closely involved in the FERC-related aspects of reliability. BGM has intervened and participated in several NERC proceedings before FERC. Given our extensive FERC and NERC experience, we are well-positioned to provide assistance with respect to negotiations, settlements and hearings before NERC and FERC concerning compliance with reliability standards as well as commenting on Electric Reliability Organization process and policy.
